Lagos State Judiciary Releases 2018 Posting For Judges

The Lagos State Judiciary has released the 2018 posting for judges.

The list and circular which was signed by the Lagos State Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Opeyemi O. Oke contains the present postings of the judges and the new postings as well as the divisions the judges are assigned to.

Also, included in the sheet are instructions that follow with respect to the new assignments.

According to the circular, the new posting is to take effect from the 3rd day of January, 2018 and it affects on the judges so named.

CIRCULAR 
1. All postings take effect from 3rd January 2018 and affects ONLY named Judges. ,

2. Hon. Judges are requested to take along with them all part-heard matters, that is, part-heard trials, rulings and judgments yet to be delivered, case management matters which have commenced and are yet to be concluded. Upon conclusion the CMC. File should be sent to the division of origin.

3. Hon. Judges are directed to ensure that their Registrars prepare a list of pending cases in their old divisions to be forwarded to Hon. Admin Judges Ikeja & Lagos for reassignment to appropriate divisions.

4. All lists made by registrars shall be made available to the followings: One for the incoming Judge, one for the Admin Judge, ACR Litigation and ACR Fast Track and the last one for Registrar records.

5. All members of staff attached to each Judge shall go with their Judge to their new division WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

6. All Judges are requested to take only their personal effects with them when they leave. All furniture, electronics, safes, air conditioners, CCTV etc. should not be removed. The Auditor has taken inventory. Judges should please take inventory of items left in chambers.

7. All keys to chambers shall be handed over by Judges to the DCR (Admin) on or before 3pm on the 3rd January 2018 in preparation for the occupation by the new Judge.

8. All Judges should please make the contents of their circular known to their Registrar and other staff

9. I wish all Honourable Judges a successful tenure in their new divisions.
