Notice To All NBA Branch Chairmen

As you are aware the ACJA Project with sole support from the John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation seeks to improve the state level adoption rates of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 (ACJA), a Federal Legislation currently domesticated in less than 10 of the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, and only applicable to states that opt to domesticate same as part of their compendium of laws.

The ACJA Project which seeks to ensure that the innovations introduced in the ACJA are uniformly and independently adopted by all states of the Federation, shall be executed across the 6 geo-political zones of Nigeria, viz, the North-Central, North-West, North-East, South-South, South-East and SouthWest.

This high-level consultative forum between key Stakeholders and Representatives of Agencies and organs of Governments, would essentially be a dialogue on the domestication and implementation of the ACJA, achieving its goals and ensuring that relevant Agencies and personnel carry out their roles/obligations as required under the Act.

The #NBA2017ACJAC Planning Committee having already sent out requisite notices, hereby advises the respective Branch Chairmen that are yet to confirm attendance to kindly do so or to confirm the details of their representatives, where they elect to send one on or before Friday 3rd November, 2017; as attendance at the #NBA2017ACJAC is strictly by invitation. The receipt of this information is urgent and important to enable the #NBA2017ACJAC Planning Committee make adequate preparations as well as print the requisite name tags.

We look forward to welcoming all the participants at the Conference.
